Origins

The name "Oluremi", is taken from Yoruba, a language spoken in Nigeria. The name translates to "God has comforted us" or "God has wiped away our tears".

Remi was destined to "live" on stage and in front of the camera. At the young age of 3, she began singing around the house (or for anyone who’d listen) and shortly after she realized her joy of storytelling. It wasn't long before her love for the performing arts became apparent.

After participating in various chorales and plays in elementary through high school, she decided to turn her passion into a career. In her late teens, she decided to make the big move from her small town to New York City in order to train as a Musical Theatre performer. During her training, she was able to study with Broadway names such as: Evan PappasDan DailyRay Virta, and vocal coach Wendy Sharp; as well as film director Jason Chaet

With her musical and theatrical education, she has learned how to create a memorable performance by engaging her audience in honest and open productions. She has performed at events, in plays and in concerts throughout New York City and beyond.

Some of her most recent performances include: Deloris Van Cartier in the heart-felt and joyous musical Sister Act; Lilly Pond, Peggy Sooë and others in the original Off-Broadway musical production of After Happily Ever After; and Daphne Brooks in Like Real People Do (Linked Dance Theatre)

Remi enjoys playing to the camera as well and has modeled for designer Adrianne Ekwensi and the jewelry line Bella Lang

Though the current of life has its fair share of predicaments, Remi continues to find ways to stay inspired and turn adversity into opportunity.

Oluremi's father is Nigerian and her mother is Tanzanian. Being first generation American and of dual heritage, Remi discovered early on the importance of dreaming big and having ambition.

Remi is thankful for all of her experiences thus far. She is grateful to her parents for instilling in her core values of faith, persistence, patience and a strong work ethic. Her family is her foundation and she is blessed to have their unwavering support.

Remi is very proud of her heritage and she intends to make her mark on America as a dynamic and versatile singer and performer of African descent. It is her desire to bring joy and light to all those who experience her performance.
